The file is read in your browser and is never uploaded or stored. Only the SHA-256 value is ever sent, and only when you choose to verify or register.
A fingerprint identifies the exact bytes of one file. Changing a single byte produces a different value. It says nothing about the translation, the translator or whether the document is valid.
